Add-ons for Outlook

Sperry Software announced upgrades to three of its Outlook add-ons. Auto Print has been upgraded to automatically print just the email, just the attachments, or both. Add Email Address, an add-on that automatically adds people you reply to into your Contacts folder, has been updated to include categories as the contacts are created. Finally, Hide Fax Numbers has been upgraded to automatically hide the fax numbers of contacts as the contacts are created.

Sales tool for Outlook

AdTrack Corporation announced plans today to integrate Microsoft Outlook into their latest product, Opportunity Manager, which, along with their product, SmartLead2, forms a sales force automation ( SFA ) and lead management tool. The integration will allow messages sent from Outlook to be attached to appropriate opportunities, contacts, or accounts within the Web-based tool.

Synchronize Outlook with Tablet PC

FranklinCovey and Agilix Labs have announced plans for the release and launch of the FranklinCovey TabletPlanner 2.0, a pen and digital ink-enabled planning and productivity application for the Microsoft Windows-powered Tablet PC. It features the ability to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook, including tasks, appointment, notes and contacts.

Samsung introduced the SPH-i500, a fully integrated Palm-Powered phone. The i500 is packaged with a CD-ROM containing Palm desktop software, PocketMirror conduit software for Microsoft Outlook, Palm Game Pack and phone off images.

Virus named for pop singer

Anti-virus vendors are warning of a new worm in tribute to teen singer Avril Lavigne. Internet Week reports that the virus, known as Avril or Livra opens Microsoft Internet Explorer on the singer’s Web site on the 7th, 11th and 24th of the month, and allows it to forward itself to all email addresses in Outlook regardless of whether the email attachment is opened.
