Information Week reports that spam is increasing at such an alarming rate that people may stop relying on email to communicate. According to email security firm Postini, the percentage of messages sent to Postini’s clients identified as spam climbed from just 20% in January 2002 to more than 60% in December.

Internet Week reports that Trend Micro is getting ready for the next generation of virus infections. The company plans to announce the expansion of Trend Micro Enterprise Protection Strategy, designed to help IT managers block viruses, remediate outbreaks, as well as coordinate security policies across multiple devices.
