SafeWeb announced a reseller agreement with e92 plus. Under this agreement, e92 plus will distribute SafeWeb’s SSL VPN appliance, the SEA Tsunami, to enterprise security resellers throughout Europe. SafeWeb’s SEA Tsunami is an SSL VPN appliance that enables companies to selectively grant secure remote access to network resources using a Web browser. Remote users can access virtually any application (Web, terminal, Outlook, Lotus Notes, legacy client/server) as well as email, file servers and printers.

Pumatech announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Synchrologic in a transaction designed to cement Pumatech as the leading provider of synchronization solutions to the enterprise, technology licensing and consumer markets. Valued at approximately $60 million, the transaction is expected to generate operational savings and positive cash flow for Pumatech.

iLumin Software Services announced a partnership with IBM and the integration of its Assentor Enterprise platform as the message management solution for the IBM DB2 Content Manager Product line. Assentor Enterprise is a firm-wide solution that provides archiving, compliance, supervision, discovery, litigation support, and mailbox management for email and instant messages. Compatible with IBM Lotus Notes, Exchange and many other popular and proprietary email services such as Bloomberg, and BondDesk, Assentor Enterprise also captures instant message flows from IBM Sametime, Akonix, FaceTime, IM Logic, IM Age, Hub IM, and OmniPod.

Legato Systems will unveil a new add-on to its NetWorker backup software that aims to simplify the management of system image snapshots created by a variety of different storage vendors. InfoWorld reports that the company will also announce an agreement with IBM that will see IBM’s sales force start to sell Legato’s EmailXtender, EmailXaminer, and DiskXtender email management products to its Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange customers.

CommVault Systems announced enhanced support for Windows-centric enterprise data management in version 4.2 of its CommVault QiNetix software with support for Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003. QiNetix Version 4.2 supports Exchange Server 2003, Lotus Domino R6 on Windows, Netware 6, Volume Shadow copy Service (VSS) for Windows, SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange.

ioLogics announced the general availability of its ioSentry software appliance to corporate customers. ioSentry is offered as a hardened Linux software appliance, running at a company’s network perimeter. The ioSentry Information Asset Control Module for monitoring the email protocol is available immediately to corporations running any variation of messaging systems including Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Novell Groupwise, Sendmail and qmail.

Research in Motion (RIM) has released a new version of its BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange to fix a series of security vulnerabilities. Internet.com says that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is a crucial part of RIM’s push into the enterprise PDA market. The Enterprise Server lets IT departments connect Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes/Domino servers to a wireless carrier to allow for corporate email delivery.
