
Kubi Software announced the general availability of Kubi Server and an enhanced version of Kubi Client. Kubi Client 1.1 is a single product that delivers all the essential functionality teams need to revise documents, share knowledge, and collaborate on projects, whether they are connected to Kubi Server or operating in Client- only (peer-to-peer) configurations. It helps knowledge workers to create secure, structured workspaces and share them with internal and external partners, without leaving the familiar email environment (Microsoft Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes).

MessageOne has announced the launch of version 3.0 of its Linux-based Emergency Messaging Systems (EMS) with new enhancements that include: built-in emergency employee notification capabilities, guaranteed RIM BlackBerry and other wireless device forwarding support, and service for Lotus Notes – complementing the existing service for Microsoft Exchange.

Microsoft and Vodafone announced today at ITU World Telecom in Geneva they’ll work together to develop and promote XML-based mobile Web standards. The Feature reports that the two companies have worked together before — in September 2000 they said they’d work together to deliver mobile access to Outlook, which appeared to culminate with the June 2001 release of Vodafone OfficeLive, which used Microsoft’s Mobile Information Server in conjuction with Exchange, though it also worked with Lotus Notes systems.

Pumatech announced it is extending its Intellisync synchronization solution to the mobile phone market with the introduction of Intellisync: Phone Edition. The new, phone-based product supports popular mobile phone platforms and provides users with a way to ensure that contact information stored in their phones is up-to-date and in sync. The initial release of Intellisync: Phone Edition software delivers two-way synchronization of contact data between Microsoft Outlook and specific mobile phones manufactured by Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and LG.

Helexis Software Development announces the release of Icon Catcher 4.0, a unique tool for finding icons. Icon Catcher 4.0 is a high-speed batch icon extractor and processor capable of finding 3000 icons in one minute. The program supports all possible icon formats, including 32-bit XP-style icons with alpha channel and can process images with various dimensions from 16×16 up to 96×96. Extended filtering options allows user to select icons by color resolution or by size or by any combination of this parameters

Sun Microsystems’ Solaris will become the third operating system to take advantage of Advanced Micro Devices’ 64-bit Opteron processor. The Globe and Mail says that software is gaining in importance at Sun. Its latest is the Java Enterprise System, and the first priority over at Sun will be offering customers help migrating from IBM WebSphere to the Sun software, and the second will be help switching from Microsoft Exchange.

GFI has announced that its entire product range for Exchange supports Exchange Server 2003. GFI products for Exchange Server include GFI MailSecurity, which provides email content security and anti-virus protection; GFI MailEssentials, which offers server-based anti-spam; and GFI FAXmaker fax server software.

Internet Week reports that Sigaba introduced secure email software designed to provide authentication, integrating with major authentication mechanisms and email technologies. Sigaba Secure E-mail version 4.0 includes support for "federated" authentication, allowing enterprises to share information about user authentication. The technology supports the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), an OASIS standard for federation. The technology works with email software including Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise, Yahoo!Mail, Hotmail, AOL, and Eudora.
