Panda Software announced the launch of Panda Antivirus for Windows Server 2003. New features in Panda Antivirus for Windows Server 2003 include the ability to operate in both 32 and 64 bit environments and to adapt to the improved Active Directory System included in Windows Server 2003.

New tools for Microsoft Exchange

Microsoft introduced antispam and antivirus tools for Exchange, antivirus tools for Word and the Windows file system. According to InternetWeek.com, Microsoft also introduced an initiative to drive industry support for the Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol for dial-in to storage-area networks.

Convert business cards to text

Boston.com has this review of Fujitsu’s ScanSnap Scanner. The scanner includes CardMinder, a program that converts scanned business cards into regular text and stores the information in a database that can be exported to Microsoft Outlook and other personal information managers.

Microsoft releases security patches

The Register reports that Microsoft released a patch for Microsoft’s virtual machine. According to The Register, a flaw in virtual machine leaves PCs vulnerable to attacks that can change data, load and run programs and reformat the hard disk. In a separate announcement, Microsoft also released patches designed to fix denial of service vulnerabilities involving Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 and Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000.

CRM goes offline

CRM Daily reports that Salesnet is going to announce an offline edition of its online SFA product. CRM Daily also says that an offline client now is considered a basic requirement for online CRM vendors.

Patch for Exchange 2000

Slipstick.com has this item posted that says Microsoft has released a patch for the Exchange 2000 System Manager tool that will allow it to run on Windows XP.
