ProLaw Software announced Exchange-free Microsoft Outlook integration within ProLaw Ready, its small-firm targeted practice management suite. ProLaw’s addition of Exchange-free Outlook integration within the ProLaw Ready suite helps provide small firms with practice management technology.

InfoClarus expanded support for its ActiveNet Companion solutions to include Microsoft Outlook Web Access. Outlook Web Access users can retrieve email attachments and remove security concerns that may exist when downloading attachments in public environments.

GFI announced that its entire product range for Exchange now supports Exchange Server 2003. GFI products for Exchange Server include GFI MailSecurity, which provides email content security and anti-virus protection; GFI MailEssentials, which offers server-based anti-spam; and GFI FAXmaker fax server software.

Recoveronix Ltd. announced the release of ExchangeServerRecovery 2.1, a recovery product for corrupted Microsoft Exchange Server database files. The new version of this application supports files over 30 GB and can recover folders, messages, attachments, notes, contacts, tasks and appointments, and creation dates for all objects. The program also recovers formatting for RTF and HTML messages. ExchangeServerRecovery 2.1 supports Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 and 2000.

Microsoft announced the broad availability of release candidate 1 (RC1) of Exchange Server 2003, the next edition of its messaging server. Starting with RC1, Exchange 2003 will be available in two editions: Standard and Enterprise. Standard Edition is a solution for small to medium-sized organizations as well as branch offices of larger enterprises, while Enterprise Edition meets the needs of larger organizations with more-complex deployments and scalability requirements. For the first time, Standard Edition also can be used in a front-end scenario, allowing customers to deploy Outlook Web Access without the expense of purchasing Enterprise Edition.

PC World reports that there’s a variant of the Bugbear virus that’s quickly spreading. Bugbear.B is an email worm, which spreads by sending copies of itself out as attachments in email messages.

For the record, we know that the news links in the email updates for the 5/28 issue were wonky. Of course, before the mailing went out, we didn’t know it, but we do now. Special thanks to the 647 people who sent us notes about it in the first two hours, and to a reader named "Jacco" who explained, with a degree of detail we’re sure must be anatomically correct, exactly where our heads are, in relationship to other portions of our internal structures. Eastman Kodak Company released the latest version of its free digital picture organization software. Kodak EasyShare software version 3.0 offers new features designed to view, organize, edit, share, and print their digital pictures, including CD burning, on-screen album creation, and compatibility with Microsoft Outlook address books.

SearchStorage.com reports that Connected Corporation released Connected DataProtector with EmailOptimizer 7.0, which features a new data-reduction process for handling user email files and archives. According to the article, DataProtector with EmailOptimizer handles archiving for Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes.
