International Wireless, Inc. announced that Graham F. Paxton has been named President and CEO effective May 1, 2002. Former President and CEO of Siemens Information and Communication Mobile LLC, Mr. Paxton will be directly responsible for the overall strategic management of International Wireless.

NowSpeed, Inc. announced that it has teamed with Corporate Software to deliver a free mobile office software platform to Corporate Software customers. The reseller agreement allows Corporate Software to distribute a Free 10 user version of NowSpeed Mobile Office in order to help customers understand the value of remote and mobile access technology and to resell larger licenses of NowSpeed Mobile Office.

Pocket Informatics LLC announced the launch of its new suite of medical applications for use on the Palm OS–PocketPractitioner 2002 Basic, PocketPractitioner 2002 Professional, and PocketPractitioner 2002 Office. The PocketPractitioner Suite of Tools is designed to provide medical practitioners with a fully integrated patient tracking and billing system created by a doctor for use in clinical settings.

Expand Beyond Corporation introduced the release of the company’s PocketAdmin wireless software product for Palm OS platforms at the Oracle AppsWorld show. The PocketAdmin software is designed to give network and system administrators a secure way to monitor, manage, and troubleshoot their networks and servers from Palm OS wireless handheld devices.

Copytalk announced that its beta program for Palm, Inc.’s Palm i705 handheld computer is now open to all i705 owners, expanding on the limited beta program that has been in place since the i705’s launch in January. Copytalk subscribers download and install the free Copytalk software and call Copytalk support to activate the notification service. Then they call Copytalk’s toll free number and dictate naturally, as though leaving a message for a personal assistant. Copytalk transcribes the dictation and notifies the i705, which then retrieves the information from Copytalk.

Palm, Inc. announced the Wireless Database Access Server (WDBAS) for developers in IT departments–or Systems Integrators–who need to create wireless applications that access corporate databases in real time. WDBAS is the second element of Palm’s enterprise software strategy, following the introduction of the Palm i705 Wireless Messaging Solution for enterprises in late January.
WDBAS lets software developers use familiar Integrated Development Environments (IDEs)–such as AppForge and Metrowerks’ CodeWarrior–to develop mobile applications and extend them so that remote users can access corporate data wirelessly.

79bmedia announced the first international version of their Connection Manager software for Palm OS handhelds, as well as their tool NetSelect version 1.1. Connection Manager is designed to configure your Palm OS handheld’s GPRS or HSCSD settings.

Rococo Software announced an Early Adopter Program for Impronto Developer Kit, a standards-based Java tool for developing Bluetooth applications. To kick-off the program, Rococo is demonstrating Impronto DK, Palm OS Edition at JavaOne with a Palm OS-based instant messenger.
