McAfee Consumer Products launched version 7 of McAfee VirusScan Home Edition and VirusScan Professional Edition. New and Enhanced Features in VirusScan 7.0 include Hostile Activity Watch Kernel (HAWK) Email, which provides protection by alerting and allowing the user to take action before damage occurs. HAWK monitors email for suspicious activity, such as mass mailers or attachments with double file extensions. In addition to supporting Microsoft Outlook, HAWK has been enhanced to support Outlook Express, Eudora, and other SMTP email clients.

AT&T customers can upload their personal or corporate contact information stored on Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Palm handheld, Act!, Lotus Notes, Lotus Organizer and other popular software.

Siemens has partnered with Sigaba to bring to market a secure email solution for healthcare. The resulting secure email document delivery service will allow any type of document such as laboratory or radiology results or patient statements to be delivered to any recipient via encrypted email. Users can access secure email messages either at the desktop, or based on organization-wide policies, and the emails can be sent to any valid email address.

Aelita Software Corporation introduced Aelita InTrust, a security product that utilizes IT audit data to prevent intrusion, monitor policy and regulatory compliance, and document network security. The company also announced the immediate availability of InTrust Audit Advisor – a free tool to assist security administrators in determining their storage requirements for InTrust.

Touchpoint announced the release of Touchpoint Mail for Outlook, a free tool that enables users to create and mail commercial quality printed cards from their computer. Touchpoint custom-prints the full-color 5×7 folded cards and postcards — personalized with the user’s handwritten signature, logo, message, and choice of stamp — and sends them first class U.S. mail the next business day.

Invitrix announced the opening of the Sametime Buddy for Microsoft Outlook Beta program. Sametime Buddy for Microsoft Outlook, allows Sametime customers that have deployed Microsoft Outlook, to combine the real-time, just in time awareness of Lotus Sametime within the Microsoft Outlook e-mail client. Sametime Buddy enables users to see the online status of people within their Outlook in-box, contacts and calendar appointments.

Chapura announced the release of KeyContacts 1.1, which has been updated for more integration with select Palm OS software and hardware devices. New in KeyContacts 1.1 is the ability to view all populated contact information fields from the "View" screen, without entering "Edit" mode. In addition, phone numbers and email addresses in KeyContacts are now searchable from other applications, such as Date Book, To Do List, Memo Pad and Mail.
