BPM Engine Works in .Net, Java

Oak Grove Systems plans to announce the next iteration of its process engine that spans both Microsoft .Net and Java development environments. In beta now, Reactor 6.0 provides interoperability between both .Net and Java environments through a Web services interface, officials said.

Another step toward Open Licensing

Site spreading IE malware shut down

An Internet scam that exploits Internet Explorer to steal personal data from users has been thwarted by shutting down a Russian Web site that is suspected of launching the malicious effort, Microsoft says. Download.Ject directed users to a site where their machines could then be infected with a trojan.

No FAT patent royalties

Enterprises using or developing free software likely won’t be paying royalties any time soon for their use of Microsoft’s patented File Allocation Table (FAT) technology. The Free Software Foundation general counsel and co-founder of the Public Patent Foundation believes Microsoft’s FAT patent will be invalidated by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
