Update for Mac OS X Office

ZDNet reports that Microsoft plans to release the first significant update to the Mac OS X version of Office and will also introduce a version of its instant messaging program designed for the latest Mac operating system. According to the article, one key feature that is not in the Office update is the ability for Office to talk directly to a Microsoft Exchange server.

Keon digital certificate updated

RSA Security updated its Keon digital certificate management platform to better integrate with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Server clients. According to InternetWeek, the improvements to the RSA Keon platform let IT administrators more easily integrate secure email capabilities into the standard Outlook client.

Denial of service flaw

ITWorld reports that a critical flaw in Microsoft’s Exchange 2000 email server could allow an attacker to send a message that could consume all of the server’s processing resources. Microsoft has released a patch to fix the issue.
