
Microsoft has brought eight more lawsuits against bulk emailers under the Can Spam Act. The suits were filed in a Washington state court and bring to 80 the total number of spam cases the software maker has filed worldwide.

An email security software vendor reports that compliance with the federal Can Spam Act is at its lowest point since the law was enacted in January. MX Logic Inc. scanned various samplings of unsolicited commercial email and found that compliance with Can Spam dropped from 3% in April to 1% in May.
