
<p>You can manage a Gmail account on a Windows phone using Microsoft Outlook.</p><p>Stephen Lam/Getty Images News/Getty Images</p><p>For every Gmail or other IMAP account you set up in Outlook 2007, Outlook creates a data file that is used to store email messages locally until you delete them. Unlike an Exchange account, where you can pick the folder that's used to store messages, you can't change the folder that's used for IMAP accounts. However, you can use a Windows redirection feature and move the Outlook data file or folder to a different location on your computer if you're running out of room in the default location. Step 1</p><p>Launch Outlook 2007. Select "Tools" and then "Options." Choose "Data Files" on the Mail Setup tab. Make a note of the folder where Outlook stores your data files, for example, "C:Users<your username>AppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook."
