<p>The US spying revelations have forced the Indian government to prepare a new email policy mainly to help secure government communications.</p><p>Image: www.niufm.com</p><p>Confirming the news, Indian Information and Technology (IT) Minister Kapil Sibal said that the main aim of the move is to avoid the risk of using Hotmail and Gmail, as a number of government officials use Hotmail and Gmail on regular basis. The IT minister said that his office recently invited media persons to attend the launch of his new personal website using a "free" email service.</p><p>Although Sibal did not confirm whether he would continue to use Hotmail account for official purposes in future, he told reporters that many officials of the External Ministry, Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Health Ministry use Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo instead of their government accounts.
