<p>Microsoft has been, for a while, telling its Hotmail.com customers to migrate to its new and improved email service, Outlook.com.</p><p>The company has now announced that it has completed upgrading all its Hotmail customers to Outlook.com and that the service now has 400 million active accounts.</p><p>The company claims that unlike Google's Gmail service, it does not scan e-mails for any targeted ads. From the user's perspective, the Hotmail.com addresses will continue to work despite the switch over to Outlook.com.</p><p>Hotmail.com, the 14 year-old free email service, was founded by Sabeer Bhatia, an Indian American entrepreneur. It was later purchased by Microsoft.
