<p>Tech giant Microsoft officially retired Hotmail a few hours ago, as it managed to complete a gigantic email transition that involved migrating 150 petabytes of data in just 6 weeks.</p><p>And still, it's worth it, as Outlook.com currently has 400 million active accounts, according to a statement released by Microsoft.</p><p>"When Outlook.com came out of preview in February, it already had more than 60 million active accounts. However, Hotmail was still one of the most widely used services, with over 300 million active accounts.
