This week, bigtincan announced a new product called bigtincan hub for SharePoint. It's similar to the product it announced at the end of last month, bigtincan hub for Box, but this one works on top of SharePoint, a highly popular enterprise content management offering.

The hub is designed to bring mobility to SharePoint offering iOS, Android, and soon, HTML 5 versions of the app. According to bigtincan, the app is supposed to allow users to remotely publish, synchronize and deliver content stored in Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) SharePoint to other mobile users instantly and securely.

bigtincan is bringing mobility to the SharePoint product, which as bigtincan CEO Patrick Welch points out, used to only be available on the PC. "The proliferation of mobile devices in the workplace has generated the necessity for seamless integration of software previously available only on the PC," Welch said in a statement. The goal of his company's apps is to bring that kind of ability to mobile users accessing the enterprise SharePoint repository.

Stuart Fenton, President of EMEA at Insight Enterprises, a bigtincan partner, said it's about making it easier to access SharePoint content on mobile devices. "bigtincan is at the center of a huge shift in the market toward mobile platforms--and it's new app for SharePoint will make it even easier for enterprises to take full advantage of iPads, iPhone's and Android devices," he said in a statement.
