<p>The pop-out Gmail compose option launched in October is here to stay, Google said today, announcing that the feature is now the default for all users.</p><p>Instead of writing emails from the confines of the Gmail screen, the new compose box sits separately in the bottom right corner, allowing users to keep an eye on incoming messages and even reference other emails without leaving their current draft.</p><p>"Saving a draft, opening an old email, and then reopening your draft wastes valuable minutes," Google said in a fall blog post.</p><p>Those already using the new compose may have noticed a few upgrades to the box over the past few months, including a new way to send files with Google Drive and pop-out replies.
