<p>Outlook 2011 is a desktop email client available for OS X, while Gmail is a Web-based email service you can access from anywhere. Your office may use Outlook for its email, integrating it with other Microsoft business applications, but you may find it useful to export your messages to Gmail. You can both set up Gmail to import your mail from Outlook, and set up Outlook to forward messages to Gmail using Outlook's email exchange rules. Forwarding your email from Outlook leaves your messages in your Outlook inbox while also letting you read them from your Gmail account at home.
