The descriptions can be of individual files, programs, applications which are stored inside of a file with the label filename_ID.DIZ. The purposes of the descriptions in plain text are to inform system administrators of file content before it is uploaded to a server.</p><p>File extension PVM is an index file created in plain text format which contains digital content that is organized according to the OSTA (Optical Storage Technology Association) standard. PVM file are typically stored in XML format and are created using a variety of digital media devices.</p><p>File extension SIG is a signature file which is attached to the end of an email message. This type of text file is a small file which typically contains the contact information and name of the email sender.
