
<p>Microsoft really wants you to ditch Google's Gmail. In a new attack campaign launched last night, the software giant focused on Gmail's customized ads, which Google displays based on the content of your emails.</p><p>The campaign includes a series of print and broadcast ads attacking Gmail and urging email users to switch to Outlook.com, which Microsoft says doesn't read email to sell ads.</p><p>In one video posted online, Microsoft focused on a personal email between friends about having to put down the family cat. Surrounding the email are ads for a free pet exam, cat enclosures and a coupon for $2 off cat medication.</p><p>Google responded in a prepared statement, saying, "Advertising keeps Google and many of the websites and services Google offers free of charge.
