Microsoft this week rereleased three Exchange Server rollup updates to address a problem wheredigital signatures on certain files expire prematurely.

Microsoft-generated digital certificates in previous rollup updates did not have adequatetimestamp attributes. If certificates with expiring timestamps sign rollup updates and binaries, itcan cause installation problems down the road.

The three re-releases are as follows:Update rollup 4-v2 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 2Update rollup 7-v2 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 1Update rollup 8-v2 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3

Exchange admins needn't uninstall the original rollups prior to installing any of the threerereleases. Many Exchange admins apply updates as soon as they hear about them, but others haveexperienced pastproblems and are hesitant.
