<p>CORPUS CHRISTI They may make you LOL, but bogus political social media sites have a sinister side.</p><p>What started out as a free, easy way for candidates to reach potential voters, social media in recent years has turned ugly, with users indulging in a type of digital shape-shifting, creating fake profiles and putting words in candidates' mouths.</p><p>While often humorous interludes for political junkies and pundits, the fake accounts have real consequences for politicians and campaign managers who now must scour social media sights for rogue accounts. Some accounts have gained a measure of traction with followers.</p><p>An anonymous user established the Twitter feed"@AaronforAaron" in Dec. 2010, not long after state Rep.
