
Finjan has announced that the Finjan product line <A HREF="http://www.finjan.com/">blocks attempted exploits</A> allowed due to the high risk vulnerability in Internet Explorer recently discovered by security advisor, Thor Larholm, of PivX, a network security consultancy company. The vulnerability affects any application that hosts the Web Browser control including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Outlook Express. The vulnerability in Internet Explorer uses universal cross domain scripting enabling elevation of privileges, arbitrary command execution, local file reading and the stealing of arbitrary cookies.
