More about disappearing text

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

By David Gewirtz

Back in January, we ran an article about disappearing text that wasn't supposed to disappear. Reader Mike Becker was frustrated, and we posed some possible answers.

Two readers weighed in with their own experiences -- and both suggested changing things back to black.

First, here's what Gregg Evans had to say:

Had a similar issue with the disappearing message. After a while I highlighted the whole message and changed font colors and their was my message. Never figured out why it changed to white, but changing it to black brought it back.

Next up was reader Mark Allen's comments:

Just saw your OutlookPower email re: disappearing text
I have a very similar issue. I send a normal email and get a response with what appears to be a blank email. What Outlook 2007 is doing is changing the font color of my response email.
I've played with the font color settings but to no avail. My current only solution is to "respond" to the email, scroll down to the response to me and change the font back to black.

We also have to give Mark mad props for his email signature. It's the biggest, boldest, unabashed ad we've ever seen at the bottom of regular email correspondence. And since we can always appreciate aggressive marketing, here's a plug for Mark-the-tax-accountant. If you're in Cameron Park, CA, give him a visit at http://www.allentaxplanning.com.
