Microsoft Kills OneCare to Offer Freebie; So Long, Norton

<A target="_blank" href="http://www.pcworld.com/article/154168/.html?tk=rss_main">Microsoft will discontinue</A> the retail version of the Windows Live OneCare security suite, effective June 30, 2009. Instead it will offer a free application named "Morro". While this may be good news for some users it's not making the big names, like McAfee, Symantec, and Trend, happy. Morro will be available in mid-2009 as a free download for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
