Excel could be threat to iSeries

There's not much question about the fact that <A HREF="http://www.iseriesnetwork.com/news/nwn/story.cfm?ID=19353&channel=home">Excel is used extensively by iSeries shops</A> (and others) around the world. It is, in fact, "the 'data' tool of choice for the non-database professional," in the words of Randy Shaw, director of operations for Goering iSeries Solutions. Brendan Patterson, PowerTech Group product manager, points to survey data that shows nearly three-quarters of midsized companies still using spreadsheets and manual processes for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
