<p>News mogul Rupert Murdoch is no friend of Google. He sees them as the Evil Empire that is 'disintermediating' news consumers from their source. But that hasn't prevented his newspaper company News Corp Australia from moving towards Google Apps from Microsoft Office.</p><p>Murdoch's local mouthpiece The Australian, known for its vitriolic loathing of the ALP and the Greens and which is also losing money has run a news story in its IT section on itself and its own IT strategy.</p><p>It says that Microsoft Office will still be used, but that News Corp will migrate its email and calendar applications from Microsoft Outlook to Google Mail and Google Calendar over the next six months, with licensing to cost $700,000.
