<p>Idera Inc, a Houston-based software company, is reorganizing its business model to focus on application performance monitoring which includes selling off its Microsoft SharePoint software business.</p><p>Metalogix, a Washington, D.C.-based content infrastructure management software company, bought Idera's SharePoint business for an undisclosed sum.</p><p>After the acquisition is complete, Idera will no longer own its SharePoint Backup or SharePoint Diagnostic Manager technology, which are add-on applications for Microsoft SharePoint. A few of Idera's approximately 200 employees may choose to transfer to Metalogix, but Idera said there will be no terminations of employees who want to stay with the company.</p><p>The transaction frees up Idera to focus on its application performance monitoring software particularly its database monitoring tools for Microsoft's SQL Server, a cloud-ready information platform in use by many businesses, and its server-monitoring software, which it acquired in July when it purchased CopperEgg Corp.</p><p><a href="http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/nuts-and-bolts/2013/10/idera-sells-off-sharepoint-business.html">Keep reading...</a></p>
